I created Drop Kick Books in January 2011 in order to publish books and articles on Rugby Union and Rugby League. My articles have appeared in Rugby League Journal, League Express, Forty - 20 Magazine, the National Conference League Annual and the Rugby Memorabilia Society’s Touchlines Magazine. The first two books published by Drop Kick Books were about rugby union. They are Leeds Who? and Let Them Play By All Means. My third book is about the Rugby League Challenge Cup and is called Making Up The Numbers. The follow up to Leeds Who? - A Forgotten Rugby Club is available as a free download from YorkBookShop.com
In 2015 I worked with other members of Huddersfield Rugby League Heritage Group to write and edit 'Standing on the Shoulders of Giants' - A History of Rugby League in Huddersfield, the book has now sold out. 'The Other Rugby' - the story of rugby league in Rotherham published in 2016 is still available. My lock down project '50 Years of Yorkshire Rugby Union 1930-1980' was published in September 2021.
Changing Times - Grassroots rugby union in Yorkshire 1987-2022, is a collaboration with Duncan Gawthorpe a former team mate at Barnsley Rugby Union Football Club. If you would like to buy a copy of Changing Times please email me at the address below for further details or check out YorkBookShop.com.
My latest book: Rugby in Barnsley 1874 -2024 is now in print.
